Downhill
Downhill Mountainbiking at Loughborough has grown over the years but still only see’s a handful of new members each term. For people who don’t know, downhill moutainbiking is an adrenaline sport whereby the aim is to get down the hill fastest, whilst minding slippy roots, off-camber corners and steep chutes.
Downhill racing is a big part of the club with easy access to Pearce Rounds, Midlands Series, Uplift days at Moelfre……… We support racing and have a full kit for the team to race in, and help each other to get to the races. With Loughborough Uni being renowned for sporting excellence there is the ability to get involved with other facilities to develop your racing.
The general running of the club works by going to events and forests in mate’s cars and splitting petrol, this has worked for years and gets us places quick. If we get a big turnout for a race we can hire van’s/minibuses to accommodate more riders.
Dan Johnson is a top rider and is the DH captain for this year, so any questions get in contact with him. Or just post on the forum and someone will generally reply.
For any upcoming events or race’s we are attending we usually post up in the forum, or check the latest DH news below for more info.
Results
All the results for the races we enter are available through RootsandRain.co.uk, so either search for a particular rider or Loughborough Uni for our team results.
