When most people think of Loughborough, they don’t think theres a great deal of mountain biking around. And whilst it’s certainly no Wales or Scotland, the riding around Loughborough is actually pretty decent if you know where to look!

Our members range from people on their campus bikes all the way up to Elite racer’s on their sponsor’s bikes – no one is left behind on club rides.

Mountain biking is very popular in the club and we regulary take trips to many races including the Gorrick series, British Mountain Bike Series, Midlands XC, Southern XC, and also enduro events such as Sleepless in the Saddle, Torq 12:12 and Mountain Mayhem where this year we had several teams going including one 10 man team (who won their category), two 4 man teams, one female team (who also won their category) and one soloist. Torq 12:12 is also set to be a fantastic turn out with 6 people from the club currently entered to ride solo.

We will also be holding regular day trips across the country, and 3 weekend trips, with the first one this year planned to be in and around Coed y Brenin.

With Loughborough winning all but one race at the BUCS Mountain bike event (the one we lost, we were second in!), you can be sure that Loughborough is the place to be for mountain bikers!
