BUCS Track Championships

Last hosted by the National Cycling Centre, Manchester in 2003 the BUCS Track Championships made a welcome return for 2 days of competition in November 2010 with riders competing in a number of events for both Men and Women with riders who compete at National and International level participating.

The overall results table looked like this after the 2 days:

Birmingham – 1st (79 points)

Cambridge – 2nd (75 points)

Oxford – 3rd (37 points)

*Loughborough – 8th (16 points)

LSCC is determined to close that gap over the next few years with the hope that one day Loughborough University sits atop the results table for both the Track Championships, as well as the overall season long BUCS Cycling league table

The events being contested at these BUCS Championships include:

Individual Pursuit:

  • 4km Men
  • 3km Women

Team Pursuit

  • 4km Men (4 riders)
  • 3km Women (3 riders)

Individual Sprint – 750m Men and Women

Team Sprint

  • 750m Men (3 riders)
  • 500m Women (2 riders)

Kilo TT – Men

500m TT – Women

Points Race

Whatever reason you want to ride the track, whether it’s racing in weekly track leagues, competing at the BUCS championships or just to get a good workout with some friends it is definitely something to try at least once in your time here at Loughborough.
