Loughborough may not be blessed with any mountains or trail centres nearby but the riding more than makes up for this with plenty of local rides that will test riders of all abilities. The club has a long history of being successful at XC racing with many members successfuly competing in a range of categories in XC from Elite down, and a number of successes in enduro races such as Mountain Mayhem, 24 Hours of Exposure and Torq 12:12 etc.
The club is however not all about racing and the weekly rides are there to cater for members who wish to member’s their riding at a pace that allows them to enjoy what they do. The details of these weekly rides and what each one offers are given under the weekly rides section under this page so please take a look there for further information.
Aside from our regular rides we aim to offer plenty of opportunity for members to take part in a number of trips away that are organised throughout the year. These range from weekends away to day trips. In addition there will be some trips to races specially organised to give new members to try racing for the first time at the hugely popular Gorrick series that has categories for all abilities.
Weekly Rides Schedule
Monday – 18:30 (Fountain) – High Intensity Training, session caters for all abilities and varies from hill climbing, sprinting and skills workouts. Details of the session will be provided on the forum beforehand. Lights will be required in winter of which the club has some sets available to hire to members.

Thursday – 19:00 (Fountain) – Night Ride, the club has a number of lights available to hire to members who wish to try night riding. The ride will typically be a maximum of 2 hours, pace will be continuous with no stopping as its cold at night. These are not held every week due to clashes with seminars so check the calendar to be sure.
Saturday – Check the forum for any rides happening on a Saturday, and if you are heading out then post it on the forum and let others know.
Sunday – 10:00 (Fountain) – Social Ride, relaxed pace for 2 – 3 hours much the same as the Wednesday ride but slightly longer thanks to the extra daylight.
The times given above are only a guide and generally the rides will be led to accommodate everyone who turns up, and as mentioned longer rides will often be run in loops to allow riders to take part for a period of time that they feel comfortable completing and the high intensity training is all done in the same area very close to Loughborough so there is no need to worry about being left behind and you can develop at your own speed.
Please check the forum to see if a ride is cancelled as often these times can clash with trips or races and ride leaders may not be able to attend, in addition ALL riders must have a helmet, working bike and sufficient food/clothing for the ride they are on or you could be turned away at the start.
